Why I like working with Lotus Notes (4)

4): I like working with Lotus Notes because I can rely on it.

I'm using Lotus Notes for about 10 years now. In various companies, in various offices and configurations. And in 10 years, I never lost data.

Can this be true? Is it possible to work with some software for that long without loosing any data?
Granted, there were occasions where I did something stupid and deleted documents by accident. Or there was a malfunction in some Beta code which deleted data, or other stuff like that.

But that was never any problem, thanks to the glorious replication technology. There were always another replica on another server or on another computer which still had that deleted data, and in most cases I simply needed to copy & paste the documents from one replica to another. So there was even no need to do some costly restore operation from backup tapes or so.

And furthermore, I never needed to care about E-Mail viruses. Users of other mail systems accept that sort of disturbances as a law of nature, but I never needed to care. In the times were I used Windows, I had a virus scanner for stuff I might catch from the Internet, and I always were sure that there is no virus attacking Lotus Notes systems.

What about server failures and lost of precious work time? No problem here, either. If my domino server broke, there was either another one who immediately stepped in or I had local replicas of my mail and important Lotus Notes Apps so that I always was able to continue with my work.

Summing up,
I really can say that I trust my Lotus Notes. It never let me down, and it won't let me down in the future. What other software is there for which you can say the same?
You can hire me.
